2006. This is more my speed of Artwork today. I had the privelege of carving pumpkins with my friend's kids: Rachel, Jake, Tom and Drew. Drew wasn't old enough to handle a sharp knife, so I used an Exacto to cut "dotted lines" then held the pumpkin steady for him use a butterknife to cut out the pieces. I believe teaching is an artform and part of it is, through working together, to find how much the student can do. Let them explore and let them make mistakes and learn from their mistakes. In this case, the mistakes are limited by not giving them the Exacto.
